We've been waiting. Impatiently. Nervously.
Who will save us? We see the scourge of fascism. We are seeing our neighbors, watching in horror as they become victims of assault by the regime. We see deprivation. We see increased suffering and fear. We worry. Surely, we are next.
And we try to continue, bravely. Some ignore the crisis. What can we do? Others join together, mass in the streets, speak out. A few confront the violent ICE terrorists, drive them out of their communities. Or at least provide some genuine resistance.
But nobody comes. Nobody stands up for us. A few politicians and talking heads speak out but do nothing. Governors boldly posture for higher office—while refusing to send their police to arrest ICE terrorists who kidnap, who assault, who abuse, who torture. They talk tough and simultaneously yield to our abusers.
We are not impressed. We slowly come to understand. There is a remedy but that remedy won't come from outside.
WE are the remedy.
Ah, but how? What can we do? Aren't we powerless? Don't we depend on our representatives, our courts, our systems to ultimately stand up, say no to tyranny, and enforce justice?
