In December 1989, Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaucescu ordered his enforcers to fire on a crowd in the main square. People who were protesting his Christmas speech.
The square was packed. And everyone was demanding Ceaucescu resign. He would not.
He expected his goons to kill protesters and scatter the rest. He would assert his control.
He failed.
His secret police refused to fire. They saw themselves in the crowd—their loved ones. Their people. Themselves. They would no longer kill for their leader as they had done in the past.
Within days, Ceaucescu was out of power and dead. The People won.
Make This Happen Here and Now
The ICE goons. The concentration camp guards. The people who conceal the Epstein fiiles. The military people—both employees and contractors. They all work for the fascist dictator.
They are not robots. They are people. Nearly all of them have friends and relatives and neighbors who detest the brutal dictatorship we currently live under. We want our loved ones, our friends, our relatives, our neighors to stop. They can end this. Even a few percent who quit or quietly sabotage or boldly and publicly denounce the despot—they can cripple the already collapsing regime. The end is coming for them and we need this speeded up.
Carots, Sticks and Drawing A Line
When you see them, whether they are in your orbit or not, speak up and speak out. Persude. Many are already secretly disgusted but too cowardly and too alone to act.
Some will never see the light. They are not your problem. You need to gently nudge those who still love their parents, children, spouses and community to yield to that love. You don't know who they are. They may be ones to seem impenetrably loyal to our enemies.
At ICE protests, in letters to the editor, everywhere you can reach people, tell them the truth.
"This regime is doomed. The leader is old and ill and has no successor. The regime is universally hated, and none are hated more that his hired mercenaries—people who protect the regime, who make the concentration camps and Gestapo terrorism in our cities possible. Refuse to serve evil. Choose your community, your loved ones, your dignity. Save your soul and join the good people, the people you know. Do it now. Those who care about you will be there. The regime will kill you the second you are no longer useful to them. Don't be a fool. Don't be a coward. Be smart and brave."
