In 1989, the people of Romania went from nonviolent street protests to removing and executing their dictator Nicolae Ceauceasu in only 4 days.
Americans can remove their dictator and end the violent fascist regme within a week. We have the advantage—an advantage that the fascists have no hope of meeting.
We have 150+ million furious American who have witnessed two cold-blooded murders by governement controlled ICE terrorists this month. We are too angry to be afraid. We can easily topple thise regime, which has merely 12,000 gestapo. We can do this, as the Romanians did, without firing a shot.
There are only two reasons we haven't done this yet: we don't realize we can and we don't know how.
Why We Can
There are some false assumptions that prevent us from taking our freedom.
- The regime is too powerful.
- We can only win by defeating the fascists in an election.
- Unless we are united and organized, we are helpless.
All of these assumptions are false. There have been dozens of nonviolent People's revolutions. Many were against smarter, more skilled despots. (Indeed, our despot seems to be particularly incompetent.)
Waiting for an election would be a mistake. This gives the fascists more time to consolidate power—which is mostly projecting the illusion of being invulnerable. And fascists may cancel or simply refuse the recognize the results of an election.
Many revolutions have been driven by unorganized fury. Yes, there are nearly always SOME organized and planned activities. But revolutions do not require strong organization or unity. A large number of people refusing cooperation in a variety of ways can fatally cripple any regime.
How We Can
We need to know what we can do and why particular tactics are meaningful and effective parts of revolution.
Several effects are useful to speeding the demise of the current regime.
- Delegitimization of the regime and seizing control of the narrative.
- Normalization of resistance.
- Overwhelming the fascists by the volume and variety of actions (and inactions).
In every case, anyone (and everyone) can contribute to removing the regime by taking low risk actions, ideally frequently—as a habit. Bolder people can take bolder actions—but must consider how much risk they can accept.
Everyone who care—which is a HUGE number of people—should consider the following actions to delegtimize the regime and take control of the narrative and to normalize resistance.
- Premanently tune out coporate media and anyone who defends the fascists or slanders opponents of fascism.
- Take every opportunity to publicly point out that a legitimate government operates with the consent of The People and the majority are opposed to this government. And that it rules by violent force, violating laws with impunity.
- Clearly state objections to every instance of forced obedience to the fascists that are compelled by threats of force. For example, we pay Federal Taxes under duress and state unequivocally that it's an outrage to have us pay for our own abuse and murder by ICE.
- Attend demonstrations with aggressive, accusatory signs that express the illegitimacy of the fascist regime.
- We need to normalize resistance by making acts and statements of resistance a part of our daily routine. We can post single page flyers on walls and telephone polls says things like "DEFEATING TYRANTS IS A PROUD AMERICAN TRADITION."
- We can note the latest abuse of power and point out that previous fascists were sentenced and hanged at Nuremburg. That hanging is an appropriate punishment for fascist regimes that commit murder as policy.
- We can speak out about how our justifiable fury exceeds our fear and that dictators like Milosevic, Ceauceascu and Marcos were defeated by The People who withdrew their consent and cooperation.
Although it would be wonderful to end this with a simple general strike—we all stop work and stop paying taxes and demand the resignation of the regime—that's really hard to pull off. (Still, you might want to try. Consider signing up—as I have—at generalstrikeus.com.)
What isn't hard to do is to continue our demonstrations and perhaps increase both the size and number of them. Nor is it hard to do things individually or in tiny groups, speaking out. Even alone, we can sabotage fascism by dissuading friends and relative who work for the fascists in any capacity—even as contractors—from doing that kind of work, or simply work slower or "make mistakes." We can be sticks in the spokes of fascism.
Once resistance becomes visible, widespread, with diverse tactics, decentralized and uncontrollable, we are well on the way to victory. Visible, consistent and growing resistance will get the attention of those who keep the fascists in power (collaborators and armed enforcers) and some will beign to holster their weapons or defect. The regime will lose loyalty as fascists supporters and enforcers begin to worry they are on the losing side. This happened quickly in Romania. Ceaucescus enforcers refused to shoot. They though they saw relatives and family friends in the crowds.
Defections signal (and speed) the end of a dictatorship. We will need to act fast, to prevent fascist officials from fleeing the country. We must make sure they are brought to justice—just as Ceacescu was. He was killed by firing squad as punishment for the 60,000+ murders committed by his regime.
The revolution (and society we establish afterward) must be nonviolent. But justice for those guilty of cimes against humanity must be severe and proportionate to the crimes. They msut serve as a memorable deterrent to any future would be tyrants.
Ok.
Take a few minutes to think about what you can do, especialy what you can do easily. Then commit to it. Others wlll see and be inspired. Every violent act by the regime will result in growing resistance, and the second American Revolution will take place. Because WE are the revolution.

Law enforcement in a city can handle 10,000 people in one action. They can’t handle 1000 people taking 10 actions
Yes. Dispersed widespread resistance is almost impossible to stop.
